At Bozeman Gentle Dentistry, we make our crowns from porcelain and other tooth-colored materials for a seamless, natural-looking restoration! Here’s how it works:
Preparation
First, Dr. Murphy will begin by preparing your tooth to allow the crown to fit securely. This may include shaving down the existing tooth structure so that the crown can be permanently fixed in place. She will numb your tooth with a local anesthetic to help you remain comfortable and relaxed during the procedure.
Impressions
Next, Dr. Murphy will make an impression of your teeth to send to a lab. She will make sure the shade of the porcelain correctly matches the rest of your teeth. The dental lab will create your crown at their facility. Dr. Murphy may fit you with a temporary crown while you wait for your final restoration.
Placement
When your permanent crown is finished, you’ll come back for the final fitting and placement. Dr. Murphy will remove the temporary and cement the new crown in place. As soon as the procedure is complete, you’ll be able to enjoy a fully restored and natural-looking smile!
